ayurveda

I recently finished my Ayurveda Nutritionist Certification and want to start sharing some things I’ve learned.

So… what is Ayurveda? In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life”. This knowledge originated more than 5000 years ago in India. Some often called it “the mother of all healing”. This ancient form of healing focuses on prevention and maintenance of one’s health. Ayurveda focuses on how all energies must maintain balance in order to prevent disease.

Imagine going to the doctor and being told that nothing is wrong. Well, in Ayurveda this is the beginning of an imbalance of energy that hasn’t formed into a disease yet.

Ayurveda identifies 3 basic bodies of energy which we call doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha

Vata is the energy of movement

Pitta is the energy of digestion

Kapha is the energy of lubrication and structure.

Each one of us has these doshas in our body. Most of use have a stronger one and the other are less. They can be very fluid and sometimes we can have a higher amount of one than another. When we have these out of balance we can start to see the side effects in our bodies.

The principle of living an Ayurvedic lifestyle to help maintain our balance or help bring down some of our elevated energy. These means eating certain foods together to better calm down the heat of vata or eating hot foods to help increase our vata. We can even use certain oils on our bodies to help balance our energy and help us feel better.

With all this being said, I am now able to offer Ayurveda Nutrition coaching that’s one on one via zoom.

That will consist of:

-Dosha questionnaire

-Learning about the doshas and what your doshas mean for you.

-Ayurveda lifestyle guidelines

-Nutrition guidelines

-Personalized meal plan I create for you after talking.

-Personalized yoga to increase or decrease the dosha that is out of balance.

The session will cost $75. Please reach out through my website to schedule 😊
